Portage inaugurated a brand new music room for the adolescents in treatment at Portage lac Écho in May, naming it the Salle de musique Fondation Simple Plan, in recognition of the generous donations that the Simple Plan Foundation has made to Portage over the years. It is with one such donation that Portage was able to equip the room with new musical instruments.
For the many talented musicians among the residents, being able to play music during a school break or on their free time helps them to focus on their rehabilitation, and gives them the chance to experience the therapeutic value of music. Reactions from the residents have been extremely positive and they enjoy spending time in the room surrounded by posters of the band.
