About Portage

For the past five years, all residents of Portage’s Mentally Ill Chemical Abusers (MICA) Program in Montréal participate in daily workout sessions after their morning meeting to help them stay fit and reduce stress. This fall, the centre will have a colourful and bright new workout room, in which the residents will be able to participate in training sessions and have access to treadmills, elliptical machines, and weights.

In addition to training in the weight room, MICA residents also practice Tai Chi, play water polo, and enjoy outdoor hockey games during the winter.
