Portage’s Users’ Committee, made up of representatives from each of Portage’s rehabilitation centres in Québec, works to continually improve the resident experience and is responsible for ensuring that residents are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
The Committee held its annual general meeting in December 2012, during which they reviewed their activities over the past year. The Users’ Committee met six times throughout the year along with staff members, including Local Service Quality and Complaints Commissioner Pierre-Antoine Guinard.
One of the Committee’s main projects for 2012 was a review of the resident satisfaction survey. In collaboration with the Residents’ Committees at each centre, the Users’ Committee reviewed and substantially improved this questionnaire, in order to make it more accessible to those completing it. The revised survey is now being used for Portage’s biannual assessments.
During the annual general meeting, the Committee also discussed feedback from several events which residents had a hand in organising, including Metamorphosis Day, the Summer Olympics, and the Winter Carnival.
