Montréal, June 15, 2011 – On June 13, Portage held its 14th annual Golf Open at the Club Laval-sur-le-Lac. Many members of the business community were there to highlight their support for the organisation. Always a great success, the event raised $150,000, which will go to the residential centres for adolescents in Prévost and Beaconsfield. Since it began, the Portage Golf Open has brought in more than a million and a half dollars.
Portage would like to thank its main tournament partners, Bell and Desjardins, and Co-Presidents Mario Bélanger, Senior Vice-President of Sales at Bell Business Markets, Bell Canada, and Stéphane Achard, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Business and Institutional Services at Desjardins Group. A big thank you as well to the Prestige Sponsors of the event: CGI, Cisco, Devencore, Lg2, IBM, Miller Thomson Pouliot and Samson Bélair/Deloitte & Touche.
Portage would also like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all participants, sponsors, generous donors, volunteers, and the organising committee, who helped make this event a success. It is thanks to their support that Portage can help give a second chance for those who want to free themselves from their drug addiction, in hopes of a better life.
Since its founding 38 years ago, Portage has helped tens of thousands of people overcome substance abuse. The organisation, which now has 10 treatment centres throughout the country, offers a variety of rehabilitation programs tailored to the needs of its specific clienteles.
