Graduation Day 2021 at Portage Lac Echo
On Tuesday, June 22nd 2021, Portage Lac Echo held an intimate graduation ceremony for three of Portage's anglophone program residents. This graduating class is part of the Mountainview High School Portage Campus at Lac Echo. The commencement, which was held on the grounds of Portage’s Lac Echo property, celebrated the graduates and students for their success during the school year. To many, the Graduation Ceremony is like the icing on the cake; a reward for all the efforts made, a window on the future. This crucial moment in the life of our youth represents another step towards adult life for them.
The graduates, each wearing the traditional graduation gown and the legendary squared cap, were honoured for the completion of their secondary education. The class’ two valedictorians delivered touching speeches after receiving their diplomas and a graduation gift. Guests included fellow residents from both the anglophone and francophone youth programs, staff, and the parents of these three graduates.
A special thanks to the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board teachers, Portage Anglophone Youth Program management and staff, Portage Lac Echo management and staff, to the students, their parents, and their families. Congratulations!
Portage is proud of its residents’ academic success. Each year, the Montreal English-speaking adolescents program helps hundreds of teenagers overcome addiction. These young graduates are an endless source of inspiration to many of them.
