Portage Atlantic staff and residents create awareness about the Portage program and the services it offers at its Cassidy Lake residential rehabilitation centre for youth.
On May 3, 2019, Tambrie Hicks, Admissions Coordinator for the Cassidy Lake residential rehabilitation centre for youth in New Brunswick, hosted an information booth at the New Brunswick Teachers’ Association (NBTA) Council Day. Teachers from across the province had the opportunity to learn about the Portage Atlantic program and services and bring back information to their respective schools and classrooms.
On May 10, 2019, Tambrie Hicks, accompanied by two Portage Atlantic residents, spoke at the Saint John High School’s Wellness Conference. The residents’ personal stories of their substance abuse and journey to recovery made a profound impression on the students.
